Iowa’s New Law Governing Diversity and Inclusion Training and Teaching

When:  Dec 15, 2021 from 12:00:00 PM to 01:00:00 PM (CT)
Associated with  Government Practice Section

This live webinar will explore the recently enacted Iowa law commonly known as House File 802, which regulates “racism or sexism trainings at, and diversity and inclusion efforts by, governmental agencies and entities, school districts, and public postsecondary educational institutions.” It will examine how the law impacts teaching certain topics, including Critical Race Theory, in Iowa’s public education institutions.

The program will further address how House File 802 affects diversity and inclusion training in Iowa’s government offices and agencies. The CLE presentation will offer suggestions for lawyers representing schools and governments. Speakers will provide examples of diversity topics and trainings that comply with this law or are exempt from this law.
